Mr Diaz (room 705) is collecting cellphones for the cellphoneforsoldiers program. Students will receive 1 hour of community service for each phone they bring in. The cellphones are recycled and the funds are then used to purchase phone cards for soldiers overseas.

3rd Annual Diabetes Walk, 10/23/09, 8:30AM
In 2008, Roosevelt raised almost $9000 for the American Diabetes Association through the efforts of over 400 students, staff and community members! Pledge packets for the 2009 walk will be distributed in PE in September.
IMPORTANT REMINDERS
1. Bring all of your stuff to the bike racks (Upas St) at 7AM on Monday morning. PARENTS: Make sure you do not pull into the bus loading zone.
2. Make sure you have a sleeping bag and pillow or bed roll (twin sheet, blanket and pillow) all tightly secured together. This can be put in a tall kitchen trash bag tied at the top to keep it from separating during transport.
3. Pack your clothing in ONE duffle bag or soft sided case
4. Students return on Thursday evening.
Jumping Into the News (UPDATED 2/4)
Congratulations to Roosevelt staff, students and volunteers for making the "CAHPERD Jumping Over The Record" an amazing event on February 1st. We're still waiting to find out if we helped break the world record. Special thanks to the Roosevelt PE department for organizing the event. The morning included coverage on channel 5 (KSWB Fox) and 9 (KUSI). A photograph of the event also appeared in the Tuesday Union Tribune

Roosevelt in the North Park News!
The current edition of the North Park News features an article titled "Roosevelt Middle School returns to its glory days".
If you live outside of our area, you will need to apply through Enrollment Options (Magnet). We have posted the Enrollment Options Application in the LINKS section of the website. The deadline to turn in the application is February 16. You can turn in your application to ANY school in the San Diego Unified School District.

Signed Note in PLANNER Required for Library Computer Use
Students who want to use the LIBRARY COMPUTERS to complete school assignments need to have note in their student PLANNER. The note must include the NAME OF THE ASSIGNMENT, DUE DATE and TEACHER SIGNATURE.

Parents on the GO, PoGO Program
Join other parents as they participate in FREE physical activity classes with an instructor once a week. Learn easy ways to strength train as well as learning fun cardio routines. Wednesdays 7:30-8:00 a.m. on Grass Area across from the auditorium on Zoo Drive.
