MESA Competition Results
Roosevelt's MESA (Math Engineering Science Achievement) team had a great showing Saturday 3/6/10 as we competed against all of San Diego's MESA programs. The students were amazing ambassadors for Roosevelt and made Mr Goodbody proud as months of hard work came to fruition. 15 students competed and we brought home 8 first or second place medals in a variety of events. Ian Romanas and James Philips took first as they managed to get 8 of 8 eggs to survive a 60 foot drop from the top of sdsu parking structure. Spencer Garret and Robert Morfin's paper bridge held up 121 lbs which would have placed first had they not been a few grams over the allowable weight and been disqualified. Abe Deardon placed second as his balsa wood glider fley an impressive 57 feet. Two groups competed in the first qualifier for the national engineering challenge. Lilly Trevino Megan Cameron and James Deistel placed second and Shane Jost and William Huth took top honors. Roosevelt and one other school will be representing all of san Diego as we go on to the state qualifier next month.

Congratulations Roosevelt Cheerleaders
The Rough Rider Cheerleaders won FIRST PLACE at the Sharp International Cheer Competition on Saturday 2/27 at the San Diego Convention Center. We competed against 8 schools. We had tons of parent support and the girls had a blast! We will be geeting a copy of the competition and pictures this week. Thank you for all of your support! - Ms Valderrama
